Installing the Device

  1. Choose a sheltered location under an overhang or the hive cover.
  2. Position the main unit to minimize exposure to direct sunlight, rain, and snow.
  3. Install the weight sensors on firm supports in the same horizontal plane.
  4. Position the temperature sensors according to your monitoring needs.

  5. If you will use GSM, install a micro-SIM with PIN protection disabled.

    Insert the SIM card and gently press it almost completely into the slot until you hear a soft click confirming that it is locked in place:

  6. Activate or restart the device with the magnetic key and check the first measurement.

Activation and Restart

Initial activation and restart use the same procedure: briefly hold the magnetic key against the branded mark on the back of the main unit. You do not need to touch other parts of the enclosure or open the unit.

Danger

Do not install the device or external antenna at the highest point of the apiary. This creates a risk of lightning strike and irreparable damage.
